  anyone doing anything interesting/fun for the holidays this year?

  we got some presents for our kids and a tree.

  other than that, just chillin.

  For the first time my wife and I will be with our son, his wife and our 3 grandchildren for the holidays. It will be their first Christmas so we are going all out for them. They are coming up from TN to Jamestown ny. This will be the first time we have been together in 6 years. It will be for only 3 days but it will be the highlight for this year.

  When we first had contact with them this last summer we both held each other and cried. I am sure there will be crying for joy this coming Hoilday. Next weekend the tree goes up. Following weekend they will be here. Can't wait! Still Totally ADD

  "Put on the JW uniform - and take off Humanity"

  we all know about the variation in the "cult persona vs the "real persona" of those in high control groups such as jws.. it struck me this becomes even more pronounced and apparent when jws actually put on their physical meeting or service attire, or are engaged in jw activities.

  they become more robotic as their responses and actions - yes their opinions and discussions- are stripped of humanity and thought, and they become turned into some sort of regurgitating jw orator.. when they literally put on a suit or tie, the level of judgement, arrogance and black and white thinking takes on a whole new level.

  take that clothing off, and put them in casual attire to attend some sort of enjoyable activity (eg sports watching or the like) and they become far more relaxed, and "normal".. i have noticed this particularly with my father.

  It reminds how I felt about 5 years ago after being out for 2 years. My wife and I was guest to event to honor a friend of ours for his community work. It was a formal event on a Thursday night. When I put on my suit and tie I started having a bad anxiety attack. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on but I came to the conclusion it was Thursday and I putting on my meeting suit. My body was having a reaction to my cult uniform. Lol. Still Totally ADD

  i'm 45 years old now and we wake up my wife and i from borg a few years ago.. i'm living between spain and france, due to my work.. it has been always refreshing to listen and read many of you here.. i hope it will continue the same..

  Did You Feel That You Were Being Controlled WHILE You Were A Witness?

  i never fully realized it until i was just about out.

  i adopted the attitude that “if mother says so, mother knows best!”.

  it took me a long time to conclude they were actually a cult.

  As a born-in I didn't like some of the things I was not able to do but I didn't connect the word control to how I felt. It wasn't until I started waking up about the wt. cult where I made the connection. The cult was hammer deep into me. Still Totally ADD

  With religion in full force up to 1859 when Darwin book came out on Origin of the Species it has been only 160 years evolutions has become a counter belief. With that in mind it will take some time for humans to evolve enough to put religion behind them. If this world can survive the hate religion causes we will see a time in the future where hopefully this planet will stop being destroyed. I don't believe you need religion to be moral. But it seems to me you need religion to learn to hate others. As it has been said before or the gist of it "bad people do bad things but religion causes good people to do bad things".   Why is Jesus Depicted as the Warrior at Armageddon on just a Horse with a Bow and Arrow ?

  i never understood this.

  the wt depicts jesus, the all powerful one to destroy evil, being depicted as using a bow and arrow from a horse.

  that seems like something from medieval times.. in todays world of nuclear bombs, precision laser directed bombs and advanced military technology, does a bow and arrow really put a fear into anyone?.

  If Angels in the Bible are of neuter gender ? Then why are they always depicted as males by description and name ? And never a female ?

  in all of the art i`ve seen in christendom, angels always have the form of a male, and in the bible those that are named always have a male name such as michael ,gabriel , etc, .

  nowhere in the art world that i have seen do angels have the female form, and in the bible they don`t have female names.. so if the angels are neither male or female why then are they depicted as males with male names ?and not female also ?.

  the watchtower illustrators also follow this line .when they illustrate an angel it is always in the form of a male and never a female form.. the anointed who make up the 144000 comprise of male and females right ?

  Or maybe it was because the bible was written by bronze age men. A time when the male is king and females the slave and property. Anything that they thought was supernatural it had to be male. Super girl and wonder women wasn't thought of yet. Still Totally ADD

  How did the bible fables get started?

  today while out running errands, i was flipping through the radio trying to find something to listen to.

  i ended up on some christian type of station, and the guy was talking about the ark, and the flood during noah's time.

  personally i no longer believe this fable, because the facts just don't line up.

  OnTheWayoOut I loved that movie Abraham Lincoln Vampire Slayer. It was a fun movie. Dumb idea but fun to watch. Still Totally ADD
